MICHIGAN WORKS! - Serving Michigan with a mission is "To continually improve a Career Development System that produces a workforce with the required skills to attract and expand business and enhance our regional economy."
e-MERGE - Helping entrepreneurs launch new ventures The WSCC Business Opportunity Center (BOC) is helping prospective entrepreneurs launch new ventures and assisting established businesses strengthen their managerial and business skills to grow their business. It connects business to resources whereby any business, large or small, new or existing, can receive training and support to help them thrive.
The BOC is a gateway for entrepreneurs to find resources through a single entity, saving time, frustration and start-up costs. We are also a communication vehicle by providing information about other entrepreneurial organizations and their programs and, by creating referrals; we avoid duplication of services thus creating a cohesive and efficient “continuum of care” for entrepreneurs.
The BOC is also a catalyst for ensuring the next generation of entrepreneurs is being introduced to the concept of business ownership at an early age and our existence lends credibility to the community’s claim to be entrepreneur-driven.
WSCC works in regional partnership on our virtual business incubator. The “e-merge Entrepreneur Network” is a community-based initiative to support entrepreneurs, focused on, but not limited to, the West Michigan lakeshore region.
As a collaborative group, we promote the region’s resources to entrepreneurs, give entrepreneurial support organizations a way to share ideas and coordinate activities, help identify and fill gaps in services, make sure students know entrepreneurism is a career choice, and promote a “pro-entrepreneur” culture throughout the region.
WSCC is a proud partner in “e-merge” and we continue to work to promote this one-stop virtual business incubator.
